MountainView Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Assistant CEO
4/11/2023
Las Cruces, N.M.– MountainView Regional Medical Center welcomes Alex Hummer as the new assistant chief executive officer. Hummer is a Las Cruces native returning to the area after nine years. He spent the last three years in Northwest Arkansas, completing his administrative residency and working at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
Hummer recognizes his appointment as assistant CEO comes at a time of new opportunities for the hospital. He plans to focus on improving MountainView’s team dynamics and professional relationships.
“The [Springdale] directors have been there for over twenty or thirty years; they grew up in that community together. That was the best part of working with my team, everyone trusted one another, and there were no communications barriers,” Hummer said. “The team was a joy to be around. I know we can replicate that at MountainView as well.”
Hummer admits that he was initially apprehensive about returning to his hometown.
“I wasn’t opposed to coming back to Las Cruces, but it was an idea that I had never given much thought to because I was ingrained in the Northwest Arkansas community,” Hummer said.
When the opportunity arose to return to Las Cruces, Hummer said the people of MountainView ultimately convinced him it was the right move.
“I knew pretty quickly this would be a great opportunity. MountainView is a terrific organization, and the opportunities for growth and new projects are limitless,” Hummer said.
Hummer looks forward to working with the MountainView team and continuing our mission of providing the highest quality healthcare possible.
“I enjoy getting out, chatting with people, and getting to know them,” Hummer said. “Relationships are the most important thing to me. You won’t be able to make a difference or create meaningful change without those relationships with the people you work with. Culturally, we will make MountainView the number one workplace. Our patients and community will be better served because of our MountainView team.”
